In Germany and many countries, the winter season can be long and gloomy. We wake up in the dark and return home from work in the dark. During the winter, our positive thoughts and energy seem to withdraw and it can take an act of faith to believe that spring would come back again.
This winter, I don’t want to wait around for the signals of the end of the darksome season. Instead, I decided to spend more time doing the things that help me boost my energy. At the top of my list stands reading while wearing a comfy dress. But for many others, happiness on gloomy days has a different meaning. In this version of our Conscious Shopping, I would like to show you my methods. Choose any of the ways that work best for you!
My conscious shopping picks to boost my energy in winter
Some of us might associate short and dark winter days with sadness and inactivity. But I believe that by dedicating a few hours to ourselves, we can boost our mood and productivity. After a long day of sitting at my desk and writing, I feel the need to reconnect to myself. Homeoffice has made us repeat the same routine every day. There are some ways that help me deal with a feeling of sadness and pessimism in winter. For instance, I mostly enjoy soaking the whole evening in the bubble bath and reading. The Mallow Blossom bath bubbles are a great choice.
Since I’m not a huge fan of trousers, wearing a comfy dress like the cute one from Mila Vert helps me relax. Do you throw off your bra the moment you get home? Yes, I can relate! However, sometimes I also like to wear a really soft bralette at home like this cotton one from Organic Basics. In addition, adding a piece of jewellery helps to boost my mood as well! Why not look good for yourself after a long day?
So what else can we do? I usually put on a refreshing face mask, like the Glow Mask by Susanne Kaufmann, and sip a cup of coffee. It truly makes me feel good to know that I care for myself. Listening to my body and dedicating time to my favourite activities help me to survive the winter blues. Anyways, I hope that this conscious shopping post and my personal suggestions could inspire you to care for yourself.
