IT’S A SUSTAINABLE GUIDE TO: COPENHAGEN

Where to sleep

HOTEL ALEXANDRA

The research prior to any city trip is part of the fun for me. Especially, when I am aiming to write up a guide about the city afterwards. In Copenhagen the hotel choice was very easy as Hotel Alexandra has it all. Each room is furnitured differently but all with the most stunning vintage furniture – you can learn something for your own home!

It’s located close to Trivoli which is a more touristic part of the city but since you get around the city by bike it’s still only a good 10MIN ride bike from anywhere nice.
The hotel is also part of the Green Key Association, which means they have to adhere to strict environmental policies. These hotels are also regularly audited and have to document the environmental standards.

Where to spend your money

SUR LE CHEMIN

In a fast consuming world where clothing is a commodity, created, sold, and consumed in haste, sur le chemin prefers freedom and simplicity.

They offer sincere clothes that evolve with every wear and wash. Their knits are too soft to be true and each garment feels like an aesthetic retort to fast fashion.

Besides their own collection you will find selected magazines, coffee table books and poetry books. Oh and their friends at FRAMA are also around with their beautiful scented candles and fragrances.

Where to eat

Glyptotek

The Glyptotek in Copenhagen is a magical place. On a sunny day the different exhibition halls fill with sunlight. The museum’s small restaurant is located in the middle of palm trees that reach up to the glass ceiling, small fountains and beautiful statues. The menu is anything seasonal and everything is homemade in the restaurant’s kitchen. It’s the perfect place to take a break after strolling through the different exhibitions.
